Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
JUST PAC is a bipartisan political action committee.
Registered with the U.S. Federal Election Commission (FEC), the PAC allows individual corporate and other entities to pool voluntary financial contributions to support policies and candidates at the local and federal levels. This allows for more effective support of issues important to the JUST mission and principles.
Yes, JUST is a hybrid PAC, which means it is both a Super PAC and regular PAC.
A super PAC, also known as “independent-expenditure only committee,” may not make contributions to candidate campaigns or parties, but may engage in unlimited political spending independently of the campaigns. Super PACs can also raise funds without any legal limit on donation size.
Yes. PAC operations are transparent and compliant with all applicable laws, and follow all appropriate regulations set forth by the FEC.
As required by law, PAC activity is reported and publicly disclosed on the FEC website, www.FEC.gov.
There is no limit on the amount that you can contribute.
Super PAC and PAC contributions are not tax-deductible.
As defined on the FEC website:
“Hybrid PACs are political committees with non-contribution accounts that solicit and accept unlimited contributions from individuals, corporations, labor organizations, and other political committees to a segregated bank account for the purpose of financing independent expenditures, other ads that refer to a federal candidate, and generic voter drives in federal elections, while maintaining a separate bank account, subject to all the statutory amount limitations and source prohibitions, that is permitted to make contributions to federal candidates.
A Hybrid PAC becomes a political committee once its contributions or expenditures exceed $1,000 in a calendar year.”
